An honor guard of soldiers from Fort Wolters Texas
carries the coffin of 20 year old Army SpecialistFourth Class Richard Allen Lasher of Arlington.
The
soldier ws killed last Sunday in Viet-gam when he
stepped on a land-mine during operations with the
Viet-Nam
US Ninth Infantry Division. He had been in

Lasher was the fourth Arlington man to die in theViet-Nam war.
He was a/graduate of Arlington High
School, and had attended U-T-A before enlisting in
the Army in 1966. He is survived by his mother,
Mrs. Beverly Lasher of 18-09 Brookview Road in
Arlington, and a 13.-year--old sister. Mrs. Lasher has
established a fund in her son's name to send
gun oils and solvents, vitamins, and
insect repellents to servicemen in Viet-nam who have
no families.-30-
