me if I did not leave I went Out in the Streete they folowed
Me still threatning Me with horible threats If I did Not leave rite
off I walked a crost the Street in a Nuther Store the Mirchant
New What was Up and he gave Me a chare and told Me to Stay
there as long as I Wished I thanked him and I Stopt there about
21/ hours and left when I got ready wowever [sic] I Should have
left rite Soon had it Not ben for Such Insults This Mirchant told
me there was a lot of recless devels in that town that if Justes Was
Meeted out to them they would have ben hung long ago he Sed
I took the best corse I could have taken for they was prepared with
there weappons and had I have knocked them down they would
have Shot Me that was what they was at to Sass and insult Me to
that extent that I would resented it that they might have a clue
I was So Mad I Could not Get over it for 2 days I could Not
Sleepe however this I cept hid I returned to Brother Whitmores
that Night I was So Mad I couldent tell him I was Wicked
Mad all over Me
29 Upon the 29 Apr I left Sister Damron and returned to Bro
Thomas Box's it rained and the heavens Seemed all blackined in
the West from a tornado that dashed all before it it tore up
treas and dashed the houses and Wagons Untill it Stratened the
wagontier rite out on a New wagon and Cild 9 Persons Namely
Mr. Berrys Wife and child
Mr. Harts Wife and child
and a black Girl
May 3 Eld H Duncin and My Self went up to heelstring to Sister
Sun 4 We preach in the Schoolhouse at Heelstring And then went
to Bro Box's that Night
11 Sunday We held Meeting at Brother Whitmore preaching by
Eld H Duncin and Eld Ostler Baptized Mr. Cunningham and Wife
and a niger
25 Sunday Here we Dun Some preaching and finished Up Organ-
izing the branch that Pres. Clapp began Named it the Ellis Co
Ordained one priest
