The Southwestern Historical Quarterly, Volume 67, July 1963 - April, 1964 Page: 463
Gladys Gregory, The Chamizal Settlement: A View from El
Paso, published as Volume I, No. 2 (Summer, 1963), of the
Texas Western College Southwestern Studies Series, is a stim-
ulating example of the contributions that can be made in the
presentation of timely, well-matured investigations of topical
subjects. In fifty-two pages, three of which are devoted to notes,
Professor Gregory examines the background of the Chamizal
dispute, the physical bases of the problem, the American posi-
tion, the Mexican position, past efforts to effect a solution, and
some of the implications of the long-awaited decision that was
announced on July 18, 1963. CHESTER V. KIELMAN
