This rare early stereograph of the chapel at Goliad was taken by photographer
Henry A. Doerr between 1870 and 1875, only a few decades after the events de-
scribed by Abel Morgan in the article "Abel Morgan and His Account of the Bat-
tle of Goliad," beginning on page 207 of this issue. Born in Prussia in 1822,
Doerr was a photographer in San Antonio and surrounding areas for many
