Computerized
preregistration
to see first use

Preregistration for the fall semester is
scheduled to begin Monday and will
continue until April 30 said Dr Edward
Brown vice president for academic af-
fairs Glen Bradshaw director of computer
services said this w ill be the first time the
new on-line computer sjstem is used for
preregistration although it will be m a
modified form The process for the
students and their advisers will be about
the same as last semester he said
Course catalogs are expected to arrive
by the end of this week said Charmaine
Boone secretary to the vice president for
academic affairs
Paul Wilson assistant registrar said
students should pick up their course
request cards early next week assuming
that the course catalogs have arrived
The cards are to be filled out by the
student and approved by the student's
academic ad iser The adviser w ill turn in
the card to the computer center
The student should be able to pick up a
course confirmation card in the basement
of the Campus Center 24 hours after the
card is turned in
One difference in the course catalog will
be the elimination of department and
course numbers usually included on
course request cards Bradshaw said all
courses have been coded with a four digit
schedule number that will be easier to use
with the computer once the new system is
activated
Students will be required to fill out an
information sheet as one of the new steps
