SA plans different Sadie's Day
for Cultural Diversity Week
A different kind of Sadie Hawkins Day will
take place during Cultural Diversity Week
April 3-7.
On the traditional Sadies Day women ask
out men but the Cultural Awareness Com-
mittee is sponsoring a day where students ask
out students of other cultures.
Jason Mida sophomore communications
major from Tyler and chair of the committee
said the details of the day are still tentative
because this is the first year the committee
has sponsored the day.
Mida said the committee plans to sponsor a
catered dinner and entertainment in the Bean

"We hope to have a stand-up hour where a
person can get up and talk about their cul-
ture whether its funny or serious" he said.

TKG taking spring pledges
Social club Tri Kappa Gamma will take a
spring pledge class.
The Kappas have already had their first
rush which occurred earlier in November
and will have at least two more in early Janu-
ary said Katie Keathley junior environmental
science major from Wichita Kan. and the
intramural director for Tri Kappa Gamma.
"Not everybody has time to pledge during
the fall semester and not everyone Is sure
they want to pledge so this gives them a
chance to do so" Keathley said.
Keathley also said the Kappas are not
expecting as many pledges as they had in the
."We also plan on. doing Sing Song which
most people call a pledging activity in and of
itself so we really have our work cut out for
us" Keathley said.
As of now Tri Kappa Gamma is the only
social club taking a spring pledge class.
