Cope said the establishment
of the program serves two main
purposes.
"First of all this gives stu-
dents a safe place on campus
where they can come in and talk
to someone who is trained to
help solve conflicts" Cope said.
"Also this program gives our
graduate students a place where
they can have real-life practice
in a supervised environment."
Students interested in receiv-
ing assistance may discuss the
process and policies before
agreeing to take part in the program.
Under certain circumstances
administrators could require
students to enroll.
Kevin Williams freshman
bible major from Grand
Blanc Mich. said he would
use the services if ever
involved in a serious conflict
with another student.
"Running into conflict is a
part of our everyday lives
even here at ACU" Williams
said. "If the services are free
why wouldn't you use them?"
Cope also said he plans
to expand the program to
help more than just stu-
dent conflicts but not until
the program is established
on campus.
