United in Church Ceremony May 31
Mary Lou Rimes and Robert
W. Jones were united in mar-
riage Thursday, May 31, at 7:30
p.m. in the First Methodist
Church at Aspermont. Rev.
Lewis Price, pastor of the First
Baptist Church in Aspermont,
officiated for the evening cere-
mony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lum Rimes of
Guthrie and Jones is the
-of Nellie Jones of Delwin.
Mrs. Jerry Mitchell played
traditional wedding music and
“I Love You Truly,” “No Other
Love,” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” ;
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a street
length dress of white pique with
I fitted bodice, cowl neckline,
three-quarter length sleeves and
bouffant skirt.' She wore a
white off-face hat and carried a
bouquet of pink carnations atop
her great grandfather’s Bible
that he carried through the
son Civil War.
Anita Brady was maid of hon-
or and wore a white organdy
dress with fitted bodice and
bouffant skirt and wore a cor-
sage of pink carnations.
Gerald Rankin served as best
man.
Reception
A reception was held imme-
diately following the ceremony
in the church hall with Mary
Ann Ballard registering guests.
Mrs. Joe Rimes presided at the
refreshment table, assisted by
Miss Brady.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones are 1962
graduates of Guthrie High
School and following a brief
wedding trip, will reside at
Bluff Hill Apt. D, 225 Cummings
St., Fort Worth, Texas.

The bride-elect is a 1960
graduate of Paducah High
School and a graduate of Cap-
ital Business University of Okla-
homa City, Okla. She is em-
ployed by the General Tele-
phone Company of the South-
west at Paducah.
The prospective bridegroom is
a graduate of Hamlin High
^School. He is employed by T.
E. Shelburne & Son, Inc. of
Snyder.
Terry Love Feted
With Party on
Fourth Birthday
Terry Love was honored with
a birthday party on his fourth
birthday Saturday, May 26, by
bis mother, Mrs. Donald Love,
in their home.
Decorations of lanterns, bal-
loons and confetti were used,
and cake, punch and ice cream
cones were served from a table
covered with a “Happy Birth-
day” cloth. Children were given
party favors and Mexican straw
bats.

Is Honored With
Pre-Nuptial Shower
Miss Brenda Kay Leathers,
bride-elect of John Lynn John-
son of Quitaque, was honored
with a pre-nuptial bridal shower
Tuesday, June 5, from 4 to 6 p.m.
in the home of Mrs. Kelly Payne.
In the receiving line were
Mrs. Payne, the honoree, her
mother, Mrs. H. B. Leathers,
Mrs. Alton Johnson, mother of
the prospective bridegroom, Mrs.
J. L. Tunnell and Mrs. E. N.
Jones, grandmothers of the hon-
ored couple.
The bride’s chosen colors of
pink and white were used in
table decorations. The refresh-
ment table was covered with a
white net cloth bordered with
white felt and designs of floral
applique in shades of pink. An
arrangement of pink carnations
danked by six tall pink tapers
centered the table and appoint-
ments of crystal and silver com-
pleted the table decor.
Miss Paula Leathers register-
ed guests in the white satin
bride’s book.
Misses Mary Jane Carr, Susan
Sims, Susie Sossaman, Carol Sue
Chenault alternated at the
serving table and in displaying
of the gifts.
Out-of-town guests attending
were Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Tunnell,
Jill Johnson, Mrs. Cleo Ham, all
of Quitaque; Cheryl Jones and
Jamie Kay Jones of Abilene,
Myrtis and Sybil Jones and A.
W. Miller, all of New York.
Hostesses were Mrs. A. O.

Paducah, will be the scene of
the wedding of Carol Ann
Stanley and Kenneth D. West
Wednesday, Aug. 1.
The announcement of the en-
gagement and approaching mar-
riage was made by her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Stanley.
West is a son of Mrs. Ruby
Saine and the late H. D. West
of Ryan, Okla.
The bride-elect is a 1959
graduate of Paducah High
School and is employed in Pa-
ducah with the C. L. Robertson
Insurance Agency.
West is a graduate of Ryan
High School and Southwestern
State Teachers College of Du-
rant, Okla, He served three
years with the U. S. Army and
is currently assistant coach in
the Paducah school system.

spent Saturday night in the
