- Display Note: Photograph of 718 W. Kolstad taken from the road. Photo was taken for the Historic Resources Survey of Palestine, Texas 1989-1991. Despite their prevalence, most L-plan residences have been moderately to severely altered over the years, but this property retains its historic character and integrity to an unusually high degree. Noteworthy features include the pedimented architraves over the windows and the porch with its Doric-like columns. Charles F. Barnhart and his wife Mabel owned and occupied this house from as early as 1926 through at least the early 1940s. M. Barnhart was a painter.
