Garth Road between 6 and 7:13

Thefts
• Medication was reported
stolen from the 3400 Mock of

stolen from the front porch of a
home in toe 3200 block of New
Meadow Drive between 3:30

Between Tuesday morning
and Wednesday morning,
Baytown police wrote 26
offense reports and investigated
four burglaries, two burglsrics
of vehicles and two thefts. They
also made II other arrests and
wrote three other reports.
During the same period,
police wrote one major crash
and seven mtiwu crashes.

sent to search the vehicle,
and found a box full of
currency in the trunk.
A police dog found
marijuana residue on the
money, be said.
Freed said the posses-
sion of a large amount of
cash is not a crime, but,
combined with other cir-
cumstances, it was
enough to lead police to
detain the men for further
investigation.
That investigation led
to the charges, he said.
Freed said the money is
being held pending a
hearing on whether it is
to forfeited as proceeds
of drug activity, as
alleged in the criminal
charge.
Forfeited money, he
said, is used by law
enforcement agencies to
enhance their enforce-
ment capabilities.

Court records showed
that on Wednesday after-
noon, one of the men, age
37, was out on $100,000
bond, and the other, age
38, waa still in jail.
