discerning are able to recognize
the undelivered lies. By using
hard simple statements the
"seekers of truth" would have no
trouble convincing us all that
their targets were indeed Com-
munists. Because their attacks
have no foundation they cannot
state facts. They can merely
sneak up from behind and
scratch at the reputation of the
Miss Sergio. Ignorance allows
these scratches to fester. If we
allow ourselves to be blinded by
these subversive half-lies then we
can destroy the usefulness of our

loaders. By thinking by using
the mental powers school is de-
veloping for us we will starve
organizations such as the "Aca
demic Freedom Inc." of members
and they will wither and die like
the obnoxious weeds they are.
No man or organization who re-
fuses to identify himself except
behind mythical titles deserves
our attention. If we do not have
enough faith in a belief or opin
ion to identify ourselves with it
we shouldn't state it. If we have
confidence in our own conclusions
conclusions reached through
reading listening and thinking
then we have nothing to fear by
associating ourselves with them.
Men who have faith in their con
victions know no fear. Thoreau
Swift Lincoln and Voltaire were
such men. The perfect model for
us is Jesus of Nazareth who in
the knowledge of the righteous-
ness in his convictions suffered
death without fear.

time but were set aside because
of the lack of time to work on it.
The idea of "Derrick Town"
was again revived when Dr. Pala-
sota and Dr. Sumcrlin re-wrote
the story. At that time the show
was written for a large cast and
James Curtis collaborated in re-
writing the script. Again the
show was set aside but after
several more re-writes Summer-
lin and Palasota presented the
show in its present form.
Triplets
McMurry
By Jay Barrow
McMurry's three Indian scouts
Scott Stuart and Steven Ervin
are making shambles of the col-
lege's reputation to recognize each
student as an individual and treat
him accordingly.
The identical triplets are en-
joying playing havoc with faculty
and students alike which has
been common practice since
grade one. Although their par-
ents George and Edith (Honey)
Ervin have strived to treat them
as individuals by purposely put-
ting them in separate classes
since their elementary school
days confusion still rears its ugly
head when the three are seen
together.
Scott can easily be distinguished
from his two bi others by the
number of bandages he is likely
to be seen wearing around cam-
pus. This is a result of his habit
of always breaking something:
whether it be his wrist which
was the case when he fell from
a horse on a summer vacation to
lied River New Mexico or a
broken foot also a result of a va-
cation outing or even something
as minor as injured ankle which
he managed to sprain in physical
education his first year at McM.
Steven an accounting major
has turned his attentions to be-
coming a Certified Public Ac
countant. His reason: money.
Humor has worked its way into
Steven's life especially on the i
college campus when he decided
to change courses after he had
registered for Miss Downing's
English class. This idea was
brought to an abrupt halt when
Miss Downing decided that she
wanted to teach one of them and
he was the only one of the trio she
had.

their attitude was good and then
a "tragedy" developed: on the
night of the recital all three S's

Through an exclusive interview

she has allowed them to have two

their last. Inasmuch as the trio

first grade Mrs. Ervin asked the

Share and Share Alike
Since the trio share one car
among them the appearance of
their "34 woodie" lcquircs con-
slant attention. However it's not
the boys who woik fevcnously
on the auto it's their "honey" of
a mother who personally rc-
caipeted and rcupholstercd the
entire vehicle.
Habits have followed the tiip-
lets throughout the yeais. Most
dominate is their love for food.
"Honey" claims that she has
enough food to stock the campus
cafeteria. She fuither reveals
that while their appetite has
always improved their manners
have not. "They act like they
were reared in a barn" said Mrs.
Ervin motherly. Another habitual
act is their domestic duties. A
large room in the style of a dor-
mitory has long been the domain
of the three which they keep
clean.
Stuart like the other two has
expressed his individual tastes in
the fair sex. He prefers older
women while Scott likes the
younger set and Steven loves 'em
all.
"Only their Mother knows for
sure . . . ."
The most frequent argument
around the Ervin household is the
repetitious question "Who is the
oldest?" The parent's answer:
"All of you were born at exactly
the same time." But that's
another story.
