The one-act play “To Burn a
Witch” was presented on
Thursday at Grayson County
College in competition with
three other schools Sadler and
Southmayde, Lone Oak and
Quinlan in District meet. The
Tom bean play received
alternate and two of the mem-
bers were honored and in-
troduced on the All Star Cast
Those honored were Linda
Kincaid and Teresa Carpenter.
Mrs. J. L. Bumpus was
the play sponsor.
FUNDS RAISED
The Tom Bean High School
Beta Club raised I215.67 on
Thursday and Friday for the
Crippled Children and Adults
in Grayson County.

The Tom Bean Culture Club
viewed slides from different
parts of the world shown by
Mrs. Lydia Taylor, president
of Taylor Tank Company in
Gunter. The meeting was
held in the home of Mrs. C. H.
Lackey.
Slides shown were from
Sweden, Denmark, Canada,
and Tennessee.
The Easter theme was car-
ried out in refreshments. The
next meeting will be held "at
the home of Mrs. E. O.
Thomas on April 4.

Tom Bean Boy Scout Troop
43 presented eight boys with
advancements and awards
during their meeting last
week,
Awards went to Eddie
Chastain, second class;
Eugene Smith, tenderfoot;
John Griffin, scout; Ricky
Gregg, Jimmy Wallace, Mike
Morris and Charles Copeland,
skill awards and scholarship
merit badge to Jimmy Yowell.
Mike Morris, senior patrol
leader announced that sum-
mer camp will be held June
8-14 at Camp Grayson.-
Jimmy Yowell announced
that instruction for swimming
and life saving merit badges
will be offered at the Austin
College pool in April.

Paul Huckabee, Dean
Leavelle, and Bryon Billings.

A miscellaneous bridal
shower honoring Miss Sharon
Hale was held in the fellow-
ship hall of the First Baptist
Church in Tom Bean on Friday
night.
The college and career Young
People and Adults Sunday
School Class were hostess.
Fifty people attended.
Mrs. Bob Luce and daughters
of Corpus Christi cousin of the
honoree were special guests
along with guests attending
from Sherman and sur-
rounding communities.
Miss Hale will marry David
Pedigo of Sherman on April 18
in the Tom Bean Baptist
Church with Dr. Tom Brandon
officiating.
