The Nicholas P. Sims Library and Lyceum was constructed during 1903-04 after local farmer and investor Nicholas P. Sims left the bulk of his estate to the people of Waxahachie and Ellis County to establish a library. Today, the Library remains in its original location and realizes its original founder's wishes.
