Mrs. Gerald and daughter, Doro-
thy Joy, motored to Ooldthwaite
Sunday to visit the Worley fami-
ly. Hie Hamilton folk were
Joined at Evant by R. M. Hill,
father of Mrs. Gerald, whose eyes
on that day beheld his first great
grandchild.
Mr. Worley lived In this city as
a young business man for more
than a year before his marriage
and some tSfte afterward. He la
universally liked and respected,
and the many friends of the
couple would cordially congratu-
late them on their new happi-
ness, and all express the most

recognize that the outward act of

act. yet it is true that essentially he
Is guilty who had It in bis heart to
do the wicked thing even though a
tense of prudence or circumstances
hindered Its execution. We need
clean hearts end minds if there are
to be clean lives.
II. Marriage—a Divine Institution
(Mark 10:8-8).
As the proper background (or a
discussion of divorce our Lord
makes clear that marriage was or
dained by God. and that it involves
a holy union of two individuals
which makes them one. All those
who look forward to marriage
should realize that it is not a casual
thing, or a merely temporary legal
contract. It is a union for life—be-
lt for belter or worse, in sickness
or health, in prosperity or adversity
All who are married should there
fore highly regard their sacred
vows
III. Divorce Limited and Remar-
riage Forbidden.. (Mark 10:2-4. 18
12).
This passage, and other scrip
tures, teach that divorce is not per
mitted except on the ground of adul
tery (Matt 6:32), and that any re-
marriage involves the parties in the
guilt of adultery. Aware as we are
of the laxness of some branches of
the church in such matters, and the

the plain teachings of our Lord and
urge every reader to follow the
commandment o< God’s Word.
