Q. When is the highway tax
on trucks due?
A. The regular period for the
Highway Use Tax on vehicles
ends June 30 of each year,
and the return. Form 2290, is
due by August 31st.
However, on newly acquired
trucks or other vehicles sub-
ject to the tax, a return is due
on or before the last day of
the month which follows the
month in which the vehicle
was first used on the public
highways.
The tax showed as owing on
the return must he paid on nr
before the due date for filing
the return, unless the install-
ment privilege is chosen.
