It’s Livestock Show
- Time and in keepnv; with
"most of our county\>hows
of the past, the weath-
er forecast looks a little
messy. At least, our bam is
much cozier than it used, so
it shouldn't be too bad if the
weather turns really cold
this weekond.
Nearly 200 of our county
youth are going to be there
showing their prize animals
that have been shampooed,
trimmed, brushed, and over
all groomed to look their
very best for the judges.
And a great deal of
money, time and energy has
been invested in all these
projects. So, let's go put
to the County Bam locat-
ed just north of the comer
of N. Lane St. and Indus-
trial Blvd. and support our
youth.
And don’t forget that
the 2-day show culminates
on Tuesday evening (6:30
p.m,) with a catfish dinner
and the auction at the Coun-

in the spring and summer.
How many of you re-
member when our court-
house had a much larger,
grassy yard with beautiful,
tall lamp posts all around
the building? What hap-
pened to the lamp posts?
We know what happened
to the grass. It was covered
w ith asphalt and concrete.
As children of the ‘50’s we
remember playing “chase”
all around that large Court-
house yard, especially on
Election Night.
ty Barn. We're all invited,
but if you can't come, you
can contribute to a Buyer’s
Pool ComancheyDc l eon.
Sidney and Gustine all
have Buyer's Pools. (See
ad on page 10A.)

We were very pleased to
hear that Comanche's fa-
mous horse, “Royal King,"
will finally be properly rec-
ognized on the Courthouse
Square. Even after 39 years
after his death, he remains
widely known all over the
country.
And we’re also pleased
to hear that we’ll be gaining
a little more green space on
our Courthouse Square.
“Green,” which indicates
more grass, plants, and/or
trees, means a more invit-
ing destination. especially
We continue to have a
number of young military
men and w omen from our
county who are serving in
dangerous places and we
continue to remember them
in our thoughts and prayers
until they all come home.
