American Eagle
Soared Over Olney
Saturday-Sunday
^Th.e people of Olney and surround-
* xflg^Co-ttfttry had the opportunity to
see the $6wft and country from the
air, Saturday and Sunday.
H. G. McCracken, in his American
agle, furnished the conveyance to
travel through the air. John Thre-
adgill, careful and obliging pilot,
manipulated the controls. The num-
ber of passengers hauled Saturday
were 51 and the number on Sunday
103.
This shows very conclusively that
there are a number of people in the
Dlney sector that are air-minded.
According to Mr. McCracken, in
the two days his plane traveled
618 milfes.
The air-minded reporter to this
journal was out on the field a short
time Sunday afternoon and wit-
nessed the plane leave the ground
and land. When it was making its at-
tempt to leave terra firma the ship
was almost obscured from view by
* the tall weeds, and the bumping it
did do. We understand the Conti-
* uental Oil Co. gave- the city permis-
sion to use the grounds free as an
airport. It is a fine landing site; and
it seems to us that it wouldn’t be
amiss if the city would devote a
little time to clearing the field of
weeds and smoothing* out the ground
so that a fellow like this writer,
who has false teeth,- would not lose
them when he landed his plane.

ROTARIAH 0. P. McCARY MADE
FIHE TALK. TOPIC OF LOYALTY
AT ROTARY LUHCHEOH TUESDAY
The program at Rotary luncheon
Tuesday was in charge of A. A.
Cooper, chairman of the program
committee. 0. P. McCarty, now of
Breckenridge, but formerly of Ol-
ney, district manager of the Texas-
Louisiana Power Co., “filled his
time” on the program by making a
very interesting talk on the “Rela-
tionship Between Employer and Em-
ployee.” He stated one of the most
essential cog wheels in turning the
wheels of industry was loyalty, the
- close co-operation existing be tween
that now is the opportune time to the employer and the employee. One
place about ten more lights in the
business section. They claim this
work could be done cheaper now
than hereafter, as to bring the con-
struction force back again to install
a few more lights the expense would
be too great.
The Enterpirse suggests that the
city acquire qll the lights needed to
make the town a bright spot at night
as possible, do it now. The very
heavy traffic that now moves up
and down the main business artery
of the town will be augmented to
a great degree as time passes and
the more light that is shed on the
streets of the town, more will be
