"A report on the history of the "Round Rock", "Old Rock", located in Brushy Creek from which the town of Round Rock took its name in 1854. Before then, the settlement was called Brushy. The request to change the name was made by Postmaster Thomas C. Oatts. A description of the land and buildings around the rock is included."
