Paris, to be at the bedside of her
father, A. M. Silver, 71, who is seri-
ously ill in a hospital there. Mr. Sil-
vey resides at Honey Grove.

a position with the Rose-AVilson Ford
bouse. Mr. Cole has held a position
in the parts department of the Ford
House here for seven years. Mrs.

wrnrker in the Primary Department
of the First Christian Church for
many years.

Pete Wetsel, 70. came oyer from
Henrietta. He is a native of Collin
County, having be$n born at Wetsel,
five miles south of McKinney. His
father, Jim Wetsel, gave the land for
the church and school at Wetsel and
the place was named after him. Pete,
some thirty-six years ago moved out
to Bellevue, and for six years was
county commissioner of his home
county, Clay.

was led by Mrs. Roscoe Leach, Miss
Margaret Lynge represented a mod-
ern mother while Miss Ruby Frances
Leach represented an old fashioned
mother. Mrs. Hazel Popplewell sang,
‘My Mother’s Bible." Roll call was
answered with names of Bible Moth-
ers. Next meeting will be with Mrs.
Hullett Jones and will be a Centen-
nial program, with Mrs. M. W’hise-
nant in charge. Cake and cream was'
served by Mrs. A. J. Sliiplev and Mrs.
Holt.
Mr. James Eller of Kaufman spent
the week-end with homefolks.
Mr. A. D. Marshall was called to
Breckenridge Monday by the death
of his sister.
Miss Joe Wolfe spent the week-end

The Girls’ 4-H Club of Allen met
at the school building, May 6, for
their business meeting. Thirty-two
responded to roil call. After- the
business session, a demonstration
was held at the home of Ruby Fran-
ces Leach, on tbe care of grape out-
tings, and berry vines. For grape cut-
tings a bole is dug on each side of
cutting and filled with water. Let the
water soak into ground, then fill up
hole. For berry vines, plow often arid
good. Also hoe them. Next meeting
May 27.

Mother’s Day was fittingly observ-
ed at the Baptist church Sunday with
a very pretty program followed by a
sermon by Rev. M. M. Barnett. Due
to the fact that Rev. Barnett had to
be called away, there were no preach-
ing services Sunday evening. Com-
munion services which were to be:
held at the evening services were
postponed until next preaching day
which will be the fourth Sunday.
