APISD athletes honored
Aransas Pass athletes were recognized May 20 at the annual APISD ath-
letic banquet and awards ceremony. They are, Randy Cole, MVP in base-
ball; Freddie Stevenson, the John Rasey award as MVP in basketball;
Randy Cole, the Macky Bitter Award for most dedicated student in boy’s
Monique Robinson was recognized as the most valuable player in girl’s
basketball; Liz Welborn the most dedicated student in girl's
baskctball;Crystal Spears the most dedicated cheerleader; Vera Price MVP
honors as cheerleader.
Jana Baker was the MVP as mascot; Tammie Deration MVP honors as
a volleyball hitter; and Kelsey Coker took top honors as volleyball setter.
Marcy Rivera was named MVP in girl’s track while Mike Walker won
MVP honors in boy’s track. Sonny Spearman won MVP in boy’s cross-
country and Lynne Schultz .MVP in girl's cross-country.
Craig Chandler was named MVP in golf, Joe Ortiz the Purple Award as
most outstanding lineman in football. Steve Heyward won the Gold Award
as the most outstanding back in football. Sheldon Belfon took the Jerry
McDonald Award as an MVP in Football.
