NOME. Alaska. Jan. 30.—The
diphtheria epidemic yesterd a y
took a serious turn and citizens
through the Associated Press,
have asked the Washington auth-
orities to hasten anti-toxin to
them by airplanes.
Many deaths are said to have
occurred in Alaska and the situ-
ation is alarming with no anti-
toxin with which to combat the
disease.
