KEEPING UP
WITH THE EXES
By Harry Hayes
Paul Y. Watanabe, '19, now pastor
of Los Angeles Japanese Baptist
Church, has recently written asking
about H-SU, and about Prexy, whom
he says he is remembering in his
prayers.
Helen Louise Stout, '31, (Mrs. Ev-
erett E. Wallace), of Dallas, recently
sent Mrs. Madge Landers an an-
nouncement of the birth of a future
H-SU student, Norma Lee, born Oc-
tober 6.
A postal card was received from
Lillian Shick, '31. She, her father
and mother are in Washington, D. C.,
where Mr. Shick is attending the Na-
tional Postmasters convention while
the rest of the family are seeing the
sights. Miss Shick says she had just
been to a tea where the guest of honor
was Eleanor Roosevelt.
Linnie Maud Fuller, '22 (Mrs. J.
D. Simon), calls Lewisburg, North
Carolina, her home. Her last mailing
address was Winnipeg, Canada.
Aaron Grant, '39, is now in the
Law School of George Washington
university. His mailing address is 20
3rd Street S. E. Drop him a line!
Hubert Owens, '35, is married and
may be found at Devine, Texas, where
he is directing the high school band.
Owens was a bass player in the Cow-
boy band.
Dub Wofford, '34, and Hollis Ham-
mond, '34, who married last month,
are living in Columbia, Mo. Dub is
attending Missouri university and
Hollis is housewifing. Finlon (Jud)
Williams, '33, is competing his mas-
ters in journalism at M. U. in order
to accept a faculty position with the
College of Mines next fall.
We received a letter from Tommy
Province, '35, of Dallas (Box 900),
asking for information about the Cen-
tenary game. We sent the informa-
tion, and Tommy was there with bells
on. If more of you exes would fol-
low the Cowboys over the country, you
will see the real 'ol "Sim-Fight!"
Plenty of exes were in El Paso
week before last for the H-SU-Mines
game. Remember Jack Izzard and
Bonita, Tom Barnes, Frank and Max-
ine Junell, Pete Tyler, Bill Harris,
Glenna Fay Frame (Grant), Mary
McKenzie, Baxter and Hibbard Polk,
and a score of others. Seeing the oldgang really makes us want to go to
these games.
The latest advocates of the "United
States Stay Out of War" bloc are the
J. T. Haneys, '31 (Beatrice Guimarin,
'33). The reason is the birth of a
six-pound boy in the Hendrick Me-
morial Hospital last week. Baby's
name is John Thomas Haney. Send
congrats to Bea, J. T.'s too thrilled
to read.
Remember-We play the Jackets
on December 1 this year. Make your
plans now to be here with the gang
and let's give 'em the works. Make
this column yours. Send suggestions

Cowboys Are Undefeated
In Four Games
With three starting men out with
injuries, Coach Frank Kimbrough was
thankful for a week-end without a
game. The team defeated St. Ed-
wards' always tough Crusaders, 33-3,
although "Little All-America" Bull
dog Turner, Nig Oatman, and Moon
Mullins, first string backs, were out
of the game due to injuries.
The Cowboys defeated Centenary
7-6, tied San Francisco 6-6, defeated
the College of Mines (who defeated
Texas Tech) 12-0, and the Crusaders
33-3, to build a well balanced club.
Left to be played are games with
Loyola at Los Angeles (October 27),
Arizona State of Tempe, (Odessa,
Texas, November 4), West Texas
State, (Abilene, November 11), New
Mexico A. & M. (Las Cruces, Novem-
ber 17), and Howard Payne (Abilene,
December 1). The Howard Payne
game will culminate Homecoming for
H-SU exes.
The football team and coaches have
received wide acclaim this year on
their good playing, clean sportsman-
ship, and winning record. One New
York columnist states that there is
an excellent chance that Kimbrough
will accept a coaching job with a large
school next fall. Needless to say, that
will be a great blow to our school;
so, let's try to make Frank so pleased
with his job at his alma mater that
he will not accept another place.

Mrs. W. P. Palm has been elected
President of the Abilene Ex-Students
Club after the resignation of Mrs. J.
M. Chandler. Mrs. Palm has been one
of the livest wires among our local
exes, and the Bulletin is pleased with
the choice of Abilene exes._ ~
