History is not hard to find in Texas. Forts, shrines, battle-
fields and brooding monuments bring back the spirit of people who
loved freedom enough to die for it.
Texas is rich in reminders of another period of its history,
too: the monument at Spindletop... derricks... tanks... pipelines... cat
crackers against the sky.
These are the things that tell of our phenomenal industrial
expansion. And Humble, with its roots deep in Texas' past, is proud
to have made a contribution. Typically Texan ... a description that
has often been applied to Humble and one that has been cherished
through the years.
