The Rounce and Coffin Club of Los Angeles is a group held together
by an interest in the fine printing of books and graphics. Each year the
club selects an exhibition of the finest in western book design and print-
ing. The 1985 exhibition will include Enchanted Rock, published by
Duncan and Gladstone of Austin. The book, mentioned in these pages
before, is a beautifully done volume with photographs by David Stark,
drawings by Pat Brown, and text by Charles Rossman. The Rounce and
Coffin Western Books Exhibition tours for two years, so be sure to
watch for it at a library in your area. Those of you wishing to see the
book Enchanted Rock on a more permanent basis should contact the

Association member Jose Cisneros's Riders across the Centuries has been
awarded the Wrangler, the top Western Heritage award, by the Na-
tional Cowboy Hall of Fame. Riders across the Centuries: Horsemen of the
Spanish Borderlands consists of text and illustrations by Jose and was
published by Texas Western Press. About twenty of the one hundred
drawings are in color and each presents a Spanish rider from the time
of Hernando Cortez up to today. This attractive book was also the last
on which the late Carl Hertzog was a consultant.
The 1986 election year edition of The Texas State Directory is now avail-
able. The Directory lists every elected and appointed official in the state
and tells how to contact them. The book is divided into several sections,
including the executive branch, the legislative branch, the judicial
branch, agencies/boards and commissions, city officials, county officials,
federal officials from Texas, and reference information. The Directory
sells for $21.95 and can be ordered from Texas State Directory, P.O. Box

Two books of reminiscence have recently arrived from Eakin Press.
We Band of Brothers is E. E. ("Peppy") Blount's recreation of the World
War II raids of B-25 bombers in the South Pacific. Blount, who later
became a state legislator, judge, and lawyer, survived thirty-one combat
missions against the Japanese. His book is a realistic presentation of
what those flights and the daily round of war life were like. The hard-
cover book sells for $16.95.
Rose-Mary Rumbley has combined reminiscence and a history of
public education in Dallas in her book A Century of Class. The author's
