.Veic Study-Work Program
Available for Ag Boys
Weldon Holbrooks, Vocation-
al Agriculture teacher, Stam-
ford High School, recently
completed the dne-week In-
service Workshop frr Teacher,
of Cooperative Part - time
Training in Vocational Agri-
culture. The workshop was
held in Austin.
The completion of the work-
shop qualifies Mr. Holbrooks
to conduct the Cooperative
Part-time Training in Vocation-
al Agriculture and he was
awarded a certificate in rec-
ognition of professional prep
aration.
This phase of the vocational
agriculture program will give
students an opportunity to
spend ^art of their school time
in on-the-job training with lo-
cal agricultural business and
industrial firms.
Students participating will
the skills and management
practices involved, under the
guidance of a skilled instruc-
tor selected from the firm in
which the student is working.
Further information concern-
ing the program may be ob-
tained by contacting Mr. Hol-
brooks or Mr O. M. Isbell,
high school principal.
Lawson Named
Assistant Coach
At Graham
Joey Lawson, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Lawsm of Stamford,
has been given a contract to
serve as assistant coach at
Graham He will be assisting
in junior high and will have
four sections of science Jind
will have two physical educa-
tion classes in high school.
Joey, a graduate of Stam-
courses, including one period
of related agricultural instruc-
tion, during which time they
will study information related
to their on-the-job training.
They will spend 15 hours each
weekday on the job, learning
le on the Bulldog team and
won All-Regional honors. He
attended Texas Christian Uni-
versity on an athletic scholar-
ship and later attended Texas
Tech

a charge of burglary of the
old Truby store, owned by Phil-
lip Hampton The men waived
action by the grand jury under
provision of a new law.
Jesse. Lopez Gongora was
given a three-year probated
term in the penitentiary. His
brother, Johnny Lopez Gon-
gora, was given two years but
his term was not probated
Raymond Perez Hernandez
had his three year term pro-
bated, while Davis Torres Rod-
nguez received a four-year
probated sentence.
The men were charged with
taking fishing equipment,
electric skillet, electric iron,
brass valves and other items
from the store which no longer
is in operation.
