• Alan Plumlee, who attended
the Farm Bureau citizenship
seminar as one of the represen-
tatives from Jones County told
members of the Rotary Club
abrait his experiences.
The five day seminar, he
said, reminded youth of today
that they had their work cut
put for them in the future.
The Paint Creek Water
Steering Committee is can-
vassing the community for
anyone they may have over-
looked who desires treated

to buy water from Stamford.

now needs to concentrate their
efforts along these routes.
In erder to install the sys-
tem with no governmental as-
sistance 45 additional meters
are needed. Otherwise a grant
will be necessary which might
delay the system two or three
years, it has been reported.
Anyone desiring a meter who
has not signed a survey’sheet,
is asked to contact Waller
Overton. Ray Perry, R V.
Earles, Ira Coleman, Burl Med-
ford or Twain Mickler.
Plans now are to terminate
the survey on Sept 1 and sub-
gineers.

1971 football season here the
night of Sept. 10 with the Sny-
der Tigers, a AAA* school
which has been on the local
schedule off and on for a num-
ber of years.
After the Snyder game, the
Bulldogs will hit the road, so
to speak, and will not be seen
on the local gridiron for five
weeks. They will be at Sweet-
watr Sept. 17, at Ballinger
on Sept. 24, at Jacksboro on
Oct. 2 and will go to Childress
on Saturday night, Oct. 9, to
play Dalhart, the team which
was placed on the schedule
when Iowa Park withdrew
when they had to revise their
schedule to meet district AAA
tarns.
The Bulldogs will open dis-
trict play Oct. 15 at Ansop.

fund than they received in the
previous year. This, it was ex-
plained, was due to the drop
in population of the county.
This fund represents the
county’s share of the gasoline
lax with distribution based on
auto registrations and popula-
tion.
Money, divided equally
among the four commissioners
precincts, totaled $31 527.19
this year as compared to $33,-
298.79 last year.
