Racism is a
value that gets passed
on from
generation to
generation. There is
no cure for
racism. The only
strategy we can use
is to work hard to
keep racists of the
political spectrum.
There is no place for
racism in a city like
F ort Worth or a
county like Tarrant
where minorities
constitute a large part
of the voting popu-
lace. There are two
choices, if 287g does
not go then those
commissioners that
voted for 287g must
be voted out of
office.
problem someplace else instead of look-
ing for a solution. Trump keeps trying
to build a wall to stop this illegal immi-
gration. Point One, these people are not
illegals, they are trying to enter the country
legally; Point Two, the wall is not going
to fix anything; Point Three, the wall is
not going to stop the flow of drugs into the
country. There is a worldwide demand for
drugs. To meet the demand, most drugs
go through ports around the world. Logis-
tically, the border is a minor actor in the
worldwide distribution of drugs.
Trump is always trying to project
problems to somebody else or elsewhere.
Take for instance is recent threat to deport
millions of undocumented immigrants. He
supposedly is going after MS 13. MS 13 is
a homegrown gang, much like the Bloods
and Crips. Why does he target only Latino
gangs? Well we don’t vote and many of
those Latinos that do vote, support Trump.
He is not losing any votes.
Many Latino Trump supporters
need to wake up to the reality that they are
included in the deportation order. Late-
ly there is evidence of law enforcement
officers posting racist comments in social
media. Dallas was mentioned as one of
the cities that where law enforcement
officers were posting derogatory comments
on social media. Racism is still alive in
America and Trump through his allegiance
to his supporters has brought out the ugly
side of America that I had seen since 1962.
No one is immune from racism.
Trump threatened to deport mil-
lions of undocumented immigrants. This
is an immediate threat to undocumented
immigrants. Especially those with fami-
lies. It must be horrifying to undocument-
ed immigrants who must remain undercov-
er hoping the nightmare goes away. No
one should be rounded up like a stray dog.
No one.
Trump changed his mind at the last
minute. This time putting off the depor-
tations for two weeks while the Congress
comes up with an immigration plan. Last
time the Democrats and Republicans had
a plan that Trump himself said he would
sign. At the last moment he changed his
mind and said he would not sign the plan.

Tarrant County Commissioners have
again renewed the policy to allow the
Sheriff to act as de facto ICE agents
Those of us that have faced rac-
ism and discrimination know the terrify-
ing mental effects of such barbarity. The
barbaric attacks were controlled or at least
minimized with the Civil Rights Act and
the Voting Rights Act.
Now we have a president that uses
Race as a tool to maintain his power by ca-
tering to a small group of people with his
anti-color rhetoric. Most are White unem-
ployed and uneducated. These people are
concentrated in a small number of states.
Because of our electoral system these
small number of states control the outcome
of many elections. Somebody said elec-
tions have consequences and we are living
through a time period where we are living
through the consequences of an election.
What is most notable about Trump
is his attack on Latinos. His favorite tar-
gets are Sanctuary Cities, The border and
MS 13. Most people do not understand or
maybe don’t want to know what is going
on at the border. The hundreds of thou-
sands of people that are at the border are
seeking political asylum. They are not
illegals; they are trying to enter the coun-
try legally. Technically, This, should be
a Mexican problem because they are on
Mexican soil however regardless of who is
responsible these people present a logisti-
cal nightmare starting with a need for food
and shelter. Mexico is saddled with this
responsibility. The US is saddled with the
responsibility of processing the request for
asylum. Many of us have seen the hor-
rifying news reports of the concentration
camps.
