In 1921, Cooke county officially established its public library, although the institution had been in development since 1899, when the XLI Club of Gainesville started a subscription library for $1.00 a year. The library provides services to residents of all of Cooke County, including Gainesville, Muenster, Valley View, Callisburg, Lindsay, and more.
