Pecan Crop In Stephens
County Worth Much Money
That tin-re will be a pecan crop in
i5'' "hens county this fall valued at a
total ot apptoxlmately $30000 is the
opinion of J. C Patteison. county ag-
ricultural agent.
Mr. Patterson declaies that thore
is a fairly good crop in most sections
or t)io county and that due lo the fact
that many farmers have had returns
from tludr land cut short by the
lavage of grasshoppers and by the re-
cent drouth much care will ho taken
to R?ther and market the nntlro pecan
ctop. which will 'ioll nt from ten to
twenty flvo cents tho pound.
There ato 15000 pecan trees In tho
county the farm agent iflnred and
basins estimates on statistics of yields
tnado heto in previous years there
will bo approximately 200000 pound
of pecans harvested hero this full.
I In somo pails of tho county tho
crop is only 30 por cent but others where in Toxas and that it in i ernp
It runs as high as 70 por cent. It isjtliat over a period or five yeai3 will
