of the Tenth Legislature---November and Decem-
ber, 1863.
GENERAL LAWS.
No. 1.-An Act making an'appropriation to defray the contingent expenses
of the Tenth Legislature.
No. 2.-An Act to amend the 1st Section of an Act entitled "An Act to
prevent speculation in certain cases," approved January 13th, 1862,
No. 3.-An Act to authorize the- Supreme Court of the State, for the Galves-
ton District, to hold its Spring Term at the city of Austin, or elsewhere.
No. 4.-An Act for the relief of pre-emption settlers, and to extend the time
for the return of field notes, and to extend the time for the payment of all dues,
by settlers, under the acts authorising the sale of public domain.
No. 5.-AA Act to authorise the use of the jails of the several counties, for
the custody of deserters and other offenders against military law.
No. 6.-An Act to amend the 1st Section of an Act to cede jurisdiction in
certain cases, passed Dec. 19th, 1849.
No. 7. An Act to suspend all laws for the collection of debts and liabilities
on bonds, promissory notes, bills of exchange, and contracts for the payment of
money, until twelve months after the ratification of a treaty of peace between
the Confederate States of America and the United States of America, or until
otherwise provided by law.
No. 8. An Act to provide for the employment ef additional labor in the State
Penitentiary.
No. 9. An Act making an appropriation for the mileage and per diem pay of
the members, and the per diem pay of the officers of the 10th Legislature of the
State of Texas.
No. 10. Aa Act to require District Attorneys to report to the Comptroller in
certain cases.
No. 11. An Act to amend an Act concerning common carriers, and defining
their liabilities in certain cases, approved Feb. 4th, 1860.
No. 12. An Act to amend the 1st Section of an Act, approved January 14th,
1862, to fix the salaries of the officers and clerks therein named.
No. 13. An Act to provide for the manufacturing of spinning jennies.
No. 14. An Act to amend an Act to suspend the operations of the Estray
Laws for and during the existence of the present war, and six months after its
termination, except in certain cases, approved Feb. 25th, 1863.
No. 15. An Act to raise two millions of dollars, or so much thereof as may
be necessary, by the sale of Cotton Bonds, to provide for the defense of the State,
and to repel invasion, and for the purchase of machinery for manufacturing pur.
