Peacock School and
Community News
Thia week finishes the fourth week
of our school. The work is progress-
smoothly arid gives promise of
another successful year. Under the
able leadership of our Superintendent.
Mr. Cook, each teacher has been able
to begin work promptly and piofita-
bly.
The teachers attended institute a:
Haskell last Thursday and Friday.
They reported in chapel on Monday
morning that a pleasant as wtll m
profitable two days was had by all.
Our basketball team has played
three frames no fur this Season. They
were defeated by Girard and Swen-
son by close margins, but on Tuesday
night of this week they met Jayton
and defeated that team by a won of
20 to 4.
The entire community was enter-
tained last Friday night with a Halo-
we'en party in a vacant store building
here. The women of peacock spoasor
ed the party and according to all re-
ports it was a complete success.
There were games for all; spooks n
plenty, ami thrills for both old arm
young.
Marvin White, an ex-student of
the Peacock school,visited in chapel
last, Monday. He has returned home
for a brief visit, and will return to
Howard Payne, where he is a student
in a few days.
Miss Humes, our new teacher, was
absent from her class room duties
Tuesday because of illness.
Or. Friday night of this week the
seniors are entertaining the school
with a Jfapanase Lawn Party. If the
weather and moon are as beautiful a*
they have been of late, agood time,
no doubt, will be had by all.
