So Miss Reynolds gels out of her

The Texas Senate and House
have passed and sent to the
Governor a bill relating to Pub-
lic. School Transportation which
states:
The county board is charged
with the responsibility of:
1. Requisitioning buses
supplies.
2. Establishing bu routes
or to June 1 each year for
following year.
3. Employing school bo.-;
vers. ' !
4. Be responsibl. fur mainten-
ance and operation of buses.
5c Receive warrants for t-ran- ;
spoliation from the state .
However independent district
may arrange to handle this them
selves:
This new bill places some S2
million additional money to the
paying of transportation and it
should mean a saving of several
thousand dollars to districts such
as the Aspwmont district.
Buses may be operated only
approved bus routes and a
violation of this will result in
the loss of transported ion funds.
Payment will be based upon
the capacity of th< bus. length
of route and type of road. Child-
ren in isolated areas will be pro-
vided a maximum of $75 per
pupil for private transportation
This new bill is an effort to
equalize thr transportation aid in
sparsely settloy counties of
which Stonewall Countv is one,
