In the past week, Howard Payne has been graced by
the presence of two contemporary, Christian oriented musi-
cal groups, the Spurrlows and Renaissance. The former
held a concert in Mims Friday, Feb. 27 in chapel while
the latter performed at the Brownwood Coliseum Tuesday
night.
These types of programs show college students that
Christianity is not necessarily bound in old hymnals and
extended sermon-lectures, a point today's theologians are
t&oping will stick with the new generation.
Those responsible for bringing these creative spiritual
groups to Brownwood, the college chapel committee and
uie independent student Christian programming commit-
tee who spent much time and money securing the visits,
need to be congratulated and thanked highly. . ■ * V

Dear Editor: '
As a transfer student from
Odessa College, I was be-
wildered when first confront-
ed with a copy of the Yellow
Jacket, an insignificant, im-
material, trite collection of ir-
revelant and redundant triv-
ialities. In recent editions,
however, I have noticed sig-
nific-ant improvements. I
would like to commend the
