Freeze Hard, Dry
Th" freeze was a hard and dry
one There was 110 precipitation re-
ported hy state weather stations
during the 24 hours ending at 6:20
a m. and none was expected. Skies
that weren't fair were only partly
cloudy.

probably would lull the rest of the
fruit tree buds and tender vegeta-
bles which escaped Tuesday dam-

victims of the freeze.
Three persons died in the crash
of a six-jet reconnaissance bomber
near the El Paso airport while it
was trying to land with visibility
reduced to one-half mile by dust.
Second Plane Crashes
A second plane, a single-jet Na-
vy trainer, crashed at about the
same time, shortly before Friday
midnight, 15 miles cast of El Paso
with two men aboard.
The wreckage of that plane was
■potted from the air, a Civil Air
Patrol pilot reported Saturday. He
was to lead a ground crew to the
scene.

Funeral Saturday
Funeral services were wheld Sat-
urday at 2:30 p. m. at the Laugh-
ter-North Memorial Chapel with
burial in the Bronte Cemetery.
Mrs. Armor is survived by her
husband, her parents, three sisters,
Mrs. Frank Kropp, Bobby Joe, and
Iwnndft all of Abilene; two broth-
ers Charles Brunson, Abilene; and
Johnny Lee, of the parents' home,
and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
K. L. Brunson, also of Abilene.
Sh was born Feb. 21, 1936 in
Norton and moved from Ballinger
to Abilene with her parents in 1945.
She attended school in Abilene and
was a member of the Corinth Bap-
tist Church. She was married June
12. 1954.
AUTO KILLS CHILD
TRXARKANA, 'lex. (ITJ!1—Tom
my Frame, eight-year-old son of
Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Frame, was
struck and killed by an automobile
Friday on U. S. 59, five miles south
of Texarkana. Tommy had just left
a school bus when run over. Driver
of the car was Lenis A. Hart, 54,
of Des Moines, Oowa, en route to
Texarkana, who told Highway Pa-
trolman Rhyne Henderson Tommy
stepped from between some cars
into the path of his automobile.
