Lloyd H. Jones
Oh, why do men wear their ole' coats
In summer same as in the fall?
I think when I become a man
I'll never wear a coat at all.
Why should they sit in church an' fry
Because of custom made by men?
I wish they'd go without their coats;
I s'pose it wouldn't be no sin.
Why don't they wear their coats at home?
Pa says 'cause they don't have to;
I figger they should wear 'em there
Now monest injun, don't you, too ?
Why don't some man begin a style--
I've heard it said that some men can--
To go to church without a coat?
Why shouldn't I become that man?
