NUMBER 17
LISTEN PLOWBOYS
Fellows don't you admire the
fellow who enters whole heartedly
into any activity? Yes? Why not
put out when you come to the ball
games then "strut your stuff" after
the bail gaines? Surely the "li'l
woman" won't think any less of you
if you devote your all to supporting
the best team of Plowboys we've
had in years.
Spring, with its soft carpet of
grass, bursting buds, new coat of
'leaves, cooing birds and gay viv-
acious youths will soon be here
to present a moire forcible, call than
books can ever muster.' Don't, nap
, now. Be prepared!
• -- lygbt i.v.herei- We would -suggest,
that the few carets who .insist oin
laxhess of di^ciplfe appearance and
attitude in general, change up!
ifoti should fyj man, eriongh to
coriie up to regulations and stan-
! ' ,$ar(Js ofjsiep out and let the'remain-
der make thfe most of their efforts.
1 Boys , listen. Let's get down to
business. Come. out to these basket;
bjdl gaines arid support them. One
gaiiie lost in our' short ^season will
• sink the percentage decidedly. No,
dorit leave her at home, bring her
but yell so , loud, co-Operate with
the yell leaders and be so efficient
in general' that she will be afraid
not to help. They' are all. good
, sports and not a disloyal one in the
entire body but a date does riot
warrant any loafing on your part.
A steam engipe can't contain our
joy to see little Fritzy and Nix push
those balls. But say , can't Big Jess
hijde that \>ail from those, boys, arid
' say, bo, did you see the bottom
of Coleman's feet. Well, whats the
use—did yfau ever see a better line
of Plowboys on the old court any-
way?
;; Do you suppose the, fellows thats
s leaving this terin.eveir thought about
' wliat he js, sacrificing,. Sure he'll
have to hustle to remain but what
can he do after jie -leaves? Go back
Home and . sling soda or v dig a
ditch?. Spifiehow we,can't think of
leaving Tarleton uiitil we have fin-
ished!
EASY VICTIM IN
SECOND TUT
Tarleton took the second game
from Howard Payne by score of
35 to 12, Wednesday night. The
Jackets were able to (lo little during
the entire game, there being toq.
much Starr and Davis for them.,
These men broke upt every style of
offence that they offered.
Fitzgerald stood out prominently
fdr-th&-El,owboy3. He made a total
of 17 points which was: more than
enough to win the game. Nix and
Jennings alsp' played a good, game.
Coleman? Johnson, Rogers arid R.ob-,
erts' played good games. yT^lefon^
drew 8 penalties during the game
while the Jackets were assessed 3-
The new men showed up well,
which looks very ' promising both
to tiie Students and Coaches. With
a little moire coaching and exper-
ience the Plowboys should deyelop
into a smooth .working machine.

It was the first attraction of its kind
that has ever been; pffpfed to the
Tarleton students, arid Mr. Laurant
scored a decided triumph, in every
act. ■ - ; , :. ,
His "steel rjngs" and hi?

SENIOR CARNIVAL
POSTPONED
In a conimitte meeting a few days
ago, the carnival committee, working
with the senior class advisors, Miss
Moselle HilsWick, and Dr. Verne
Scott, decided that;„ since every one
seemed ■ unusually rushed with work
and exceptionally tiired just now,
the wisest tjhm<* to be done was to
postpone the senior carnival until
the second • week in the second
semester.
' In making this, change the com-
mittee will have more ^iriie tin which
to Worfc on the 'carnival,, arid like-
wise they shall he "able to * present
a better one. ...
As advanced thus fkr, the carnival:
plans have been extejitionally good.
Clever side shows Will be the main
iss%, but for thofefe to whom fooid.
