cause it is a cheerful place—full of
friendly university atmosphere.
And when the gang gathers around,

NEWS BRIEFS
By THELMA GEESLIN
The Military Ball has finally
come and gone. While it was so
much an anticipation for so long,
it is now one pleasant memory
about which to reminisce. And I
congratulate all the committees for
doing such a wonderful job in pre-
paring and giving it.
Cadets were ovei-joyed last week
when they were given a general,
order by Colonel Morrison remov-
ing the requirement of wearing
field jackets to town. And then it
got cold. ■
There is also the story about the
military band. These cadets no
longer have to clean rifles plus in-
struments every wek. They were
permitted to turn in their rifles last
week.
The Swing Cadets were such a
success at Fort Hood that thtsy are
going back Saturday for a return
engagement. They will again, play
for an Officers' Club dance; Mem-
bers to make the trip are the direc-
tor, C. W. Reynolds, Gene 'Allen,
Charles Eagle, James McCloud,
Charles Neblett, Manuel Garza,
^ommy Dawson, James Mabry,
Ralph Ratliff, Robert Shanks,
Webb Golston, and Jovena Jack-
son, who is replacing Janice Alsup
temporarily. Let's hand out orchids
to a dance orchestra that probably
excels all other bands in any other
college the size of Tarleton—may-
be larger ones, too.
The J-Tac editor received a letter
from Lawrence 11. Campbell, dean
of the Sclioof Journalism of
Florida State University last week.
Brief and to the point, it read:
"One of these days I would like to
see a copy of the J-Tac, for I'm in-
terested in outstanding newspa-
pers," That was all.
Bill Nix, Grassburr editor, and
James Howard, high JJoint man in
conference basketball play, both
took physical examinations last
Monday to enter West Point. Nix
took his in Fort Sam Houston
while Howard went to Fort Bliss.
Both received appointment several
weeks ago,

been removed. The good deed was
performed by some of our indus-

looks a little bare there by the
steps, but at least we don't feel as
though we are about to be buried
when we go in.

CHEER HADACOL
Hadacol May Relieve Cause of Troubles
When Due to a Lack of Vitamins B i,
Bg, Niacin and Iron, that Interfere with
Fun and Studies!
The marvelous benefits of HADA-
COL, today's great nutritional
formula, are equally helpful to
young and old alike who are suffer-
ing from a lack of Vitamins Bj, Bs,
Iron and Niacin.
Here's what these two pretty
coeds, who may have been suffer-
ing from such deficiencies, have to
say; "We are two college students
writing you this letter. Before tak-
ing HADACOL we were nervous,
restless and unable to sleep at
.night. We found we were foggy
all day and ached all over. Now
after taking only. 3 bottles of HAD-
ACOL we are different persons.
We are full of life and energy and
our aches have completely-disap-
peared. Thank you for your won-
derful discovery of that remarkable
product, HADACOL."

The Best Friend You Ever Had
Senator LeBlanc has been in
public life since he was quite
a young man and has always
advocated the cause of the op-

deserving man . and woman in
Louisiana a pension of $50.00.
It was he who introduced the
law creating the office of Service
Commissioner, the duties of
which office is to see that every
deserving ox-soldier and veter-
an receives his just reward from
the Federal and State Govern-
ment. It was he who has con-
sistently fought the battle of
the school teachers in the halls
of the legislature. He worked
untiringly for the farmers and

You can place your confidence

activities demonstrated to you
that he is your friend. If you
are suffering from deficiencies
