Run-Off
George Brewer defeated People's
Fai'ty candidate C. J. Smith Thurs-
day in the run-off for the TSC
Student Council presidency. When
the-votes were tallied Brewer had
ll7 and C. J. Smith held 114 votes
which set a record for several
years of TSC elections.
The Tarleton Interest Organi-
zation was the supporter of George
' and Aubrey while the People's
Party supported C, J. Smith and
Kenny Hunter, This party system,
being the first year in operation,
has done its job of creating much
interest in the election for stu-
dent offices.
The political parties will be bead-
ed again next year by the nom-
■jjiees for office this year, This will
insure that the parties are carried
on at Tarleton. All of the candi-
dates running under a party's sup-
" port agree that it is a stimulant
to interest and a great help in
selecting and promoting the best
candidates.
George and Aubrey both shared
a genuine modesty for a winning
team. They agree on the party's
u platform and both said that they
S could hardly lose the spirit of the
-office, if no other reason than be-
cause of the enthusiastic students
v" whq have been so much help. They
extended their thanks to all stu-
dents who took an interest in . the
school politics and promised that
they will give the offices their full
enthusiasm. ' . , .
