Red Raiders Topple Dirty Dozen
In Postseason Softball Playoff
Tiny Hill's , clutch-hitting Red Raiders grabbed all the mar-
bles as th'eyj swept two straight from the Dirty Dozen in a
thrilling' postseason championship playoff* for the Tarleton in-
tramural crown,
In Monday's opener the Raiders
were forced to the limit; They
trailed 5-4 in -the last of the sev-
enth, bpt three jingles and a
walk broke up the ball game with
none away, Wortham's slashing
bases-loaded bingle to center
brought victory to _ hard-working
Fred Ferguson, who was the vic-
tim of shoddy infield support in
the early innings. The winners
garnered nine base knocks ' off
Teel Stone, while Ferg spaced five.
The rubber-armed Ferguson,
apparently getting stronger with
each appearance, held the hustling
Dirty t)ozen to three widely-scat-
tered blows Tuesday as his mates,
blasted their way into an e$rly 5-
run margin. Final count was 5-1.

been fun writing, &nd I hope
you're enjoyed this colmfrn,
A pastime not to be overlooked
by sports lovers, and certainly one
that has instantly --become popu-
lar, is golf, locally of; the four-

Led by fireball Fred Ferguson,
Tiny Hill's heavy-hitting Red
Raiders overwhelmed the Dirty
Dozen in two straight playoff con-
tests to cop the. Tarleton intramu-
ral championship., Hats off to a
swell team, one that richly de-
serves the title./ . „ ^ .
If any pro football scouts are
in the vicinity, they may be
passing up some innocuous-look-
ing material that actually could
be developed into good ball-
handlers. Paced by expert quar-

Address System Used
In Softball Finals
A public address system was
to make the play-off in the series
between the Red Raiders and Dir-
ty Dozen much more interesting.
The system was used to tell the
batting order, and give a play-by-
play account of the game.
Cdach Hughes who doubled as
official score keeper and announc-
er, did a very good job and through
his .efforts the ball games went
off very orderly and, were finish-
ed in minimum amount of time. ,
