You Tell Us
T
What will Tarleton be like in the year 2036?
By TIMOTHY STALLARD
We should have
somewhere around 7,500
students. I believe
Talreton will be a major
university with a greater
urban flavor. We should
have many more city kids
enrolled by that time,
because that has been the
trend in past years.
Mike Leese
Student Service VP
I think the university will
be two to three times as
large, but still a fantastic,
high quality institution
that looks out for the
student.
Reuben Walter
Head, Physical Science
It will be larger and more
dynamic, with greater
diversity of academic pro-
grams, but will retain its
valid role as a rural liberal
arts and agribusiness
institution.
Harvey Gover
Librarian
Programs and curricula
will change to meet the
needs of the students of
this part of the state, but
Tarleton will still be
recognized as the very
best regional school in the
state of Texas.
Lamar Johanson
Dean of Arts
Sciences
and
The university will have
progressed to a level of
excellence that will rival
any other educational in-
stitution in the state. This
will be due in part to the
research, development
and academic excellence
of the faculty.
Dan McCoy
Freshman
I believe that tuition will
be in excess of $100 per
semester hour. I also
believe that by the year
2036 telecommunications
will have advanced to the
point that we will be able
to receive lectures from
professors at Texas A&M
or other universities. Carl
Chumney will probably
still be teaching farm
carpentry in 2036.
