The Libraries of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio have contributed a selection of books from the P.I. Nixon Medical History Library and selected membership records from the Bexar County Medical Society Records housed in the University Archives. The books were collected by Dr. P. I. Nixon and other physicians in San Antonio and provide a snapshot of San Antonio culture, climate, and medical conditions in nineteenth and early twentieth-century Texas. Some of the books are autobiographies of pioneer Texas physicians. Membership records are limited to members born 1910 or earlier and contain photographs and information on family, training, and experience.
