God made the country; man
made the town.
It is said that the Goodnight
buffaloes have never shown full
confidence in man and are still
comparatively wild. These animals
have more sense than we thought
they had.
Comptroller Love has issued
note to Texas confederate pension
ers advising them to send their
affidavits direct to him and their
raouey will be remitted promptly
without charge. There is no ne

ONE CHAP WHO
ALWAYS GETS THERE
It is not so much brilliancv of
intellect and versatility of resource
as persistency of effort and con-
stancy of purpose that give suc-
cess. When we see a young man
that labor cannot weary whom
drudgery cannot disgust or dis
hearten who meets reverses with
an erect unflinching bearing we
know that he will win. There is
no keeping him down. Success.
