1 of the new single-member districts.
2 (b) In dividing the district into single-member districts
3 under Subsection (a) of this section, the board shall:
4 (1) take into account the existing at-large board
5 position elected by the voters of the Santa Gertrudis Independent
6 School District; and
7 (2) draw the single-member districts in a manner that
8 retains the existing district lines as closely as possible.
9 (c) If the district annexes territory, the annexed
10 territory becomes part of one or more of the single-member
11 districts as determined by the board.
12 (d) One director shall be elected from each single-member
14 (e) To be a candidate for or to serve as a director, a person
15 must be a registered voter in the single-member district the person
16 represents or seeks to represent.
17 (f) A person shall indicate on the application for a place
18 on the ballot the single-member district the person seeks to
20 (g) After each federal decennial census or as needed, the
21 board may redraw the single-member districts to reflect population
22 changes. A director in office on the effective date of a change in
23 the boundaries of a single-member district, or a director elected
24 or appointed before the effective date of the change whose term of
