Has Meeting In
Minter Home
Mrs. Vernle Minter was
hostesses to the Thimble Club
Wednesday afternoon, Sept-
ember 17th at her home at
207 West 6th St,
President Mrs. John Long
presided at the business ses-
sion. The Secretary Mrs.
George Nelson called the roll.
Present were mesdames Ed-
gar Banks, Gladys Goodson,
G, H. Thomas, R. R, Banks,
Louis long, Roy Isgate,
Christine Maness, Neal Long,
B, P. Reed, C. S. Hlnton,
Sr., John Long, Jean Carglll,
and Vernie Minter.
The members drew names
for the Christmas parry.
The afternoon was spent
sewing and visiting.
The hostess served a dell-
clous salad plate, coffee, tea
and cold drinks.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Christine
Maness the 1st of October.

children through play.
A nutritional program is
provided for the children.
Mrs. Chris Pirtle, the nut
rionlst, along with the cooks,
plan a hot breakfast, a glass
of juice In the morning, a hot
lunch and an afternoon snack
dally for each child.
Health services, which are
vitally important, are pro-
vided for each child. The
nurse for the local center,
Mrs. Hazel Doty, along with
the County Health Depart-
ment, see that each child gets
all of his or her Immuniza-
tion shots, their eyes and
teeth checked and a complete
physical examination. In ca-
ses where glasses or dental
work is needed arrangements
are made.
The program Is designed
not only for the child but for
the entire family. The Rusk
Center has an active Parent
Club Association composed of
73 parents, which meet regul-
arly. The Rusk Center was
funded only $100.00 for sup-
plies, therefore the staff and
other Interested persons have
asked people In rhecommuni
ties for supplies which are
now being used in the cen-
ter.
