Digest of the Book of Land Certificates

Menefee, Thomas, single man, represented by William Menefee, his father, granted first
class unconditional certificate number 100 on March 2, 1838 for 640 acres upon
demonstrating by declaration of Abner W. Woolsey and William Menefee that he had
resided in Texas and was seventeen years old before October 1, 1837 (page 41,
granted in accordance with the provisions of the law passed December 14, 1837,
land located in Mason County)
Menefee, William, man of family, granted first class unconditional certificate number 91
on March 2, 1838 for one labor (one league having previously been granted) upon
demonstrating by declaration of Robert Brotherton and Abner W. Woolsey that he
had resided in Texas before May 2, 1835 (page 38, granted in accordance with the
provisions of the constitution adopted March 17, 1836, land located in Mason
County)
Mercer, Eli, man of family, granted first class unconditional certificate number 112 on
March 15, 1838 for one labor (one league having previously been granted) upon
demonstrating by declaration of Robert Brotherton and Abraham Alley that he had
resided in Texas before May 2, 1835 (page 44, granted in accordance with the
provisions of the constitution adopted March 17, 1836, land located in Gillespie
County)
Mercer, Elijah, single man, granted first class unconditional certificate number 109 on
March 15, 1838 for one-third league upon demonstrating by declaration of William
J. E. Heard and Thomas J. Read that he had resided in Texas before May 2, 1835
(page 43, granted in accordance with the provisions of the constitution adopted
March 17, 1836, land located in Llano County)
Mercer, Jesse, married man, granted third class conditional certificate number 48 for
640 acres on May 3, 1841 upon demonstrating that he arrived in Texas in April 1838
(pages 239-240, granted in accordance with the provisions of the laws passed
January 4, 1838 and January 15, 1841)
Mercer, Levi, single man, granted first class unconditional certificate number 111 on
March 15, 1838 for one-third league upon demonstrating by declaration of William
J. E. Heard and Thomas J. Read that he had resided in Texas before May 2, 1835
(page 44, granted in accordance with the provisions of the constitution adopted
March 17, 1836, land located in Llano County)
Mercer, Levi, granted first class unconditional certificate number 140 on November 5,
1838 for two-thirds league and one labor (one-third league having been granted
when he was single) upon demonstrating by declaration of Preston Gilbert and
Robert Brotherton that he had arrived in Texas in 1830 (page 53, granted in
accordance with the provisions of the constitution adopted March 17, 1836, land
located in Llano County)
Mercer, Rezin, single man, estate of, represented by Eli Mercer, administrator, granted
first class unconditional certificate number 110 on March 15, 1838 for one-third
league upon demonstrating by declaration of Eli Mercer and Elijah Mercer that he had
resided in Texas before May 2, 1835 and that he had since died (page 43, granted
in accordance with the provisions of the constitution adopted March 17, 1836, land
located in Llano County)
Meriweather, William, man of family, granted second class conditional certificate
number 11 on August 2, 1838 for 1280 acres upon demonstrating by declaration
of Andrew J. McDonald and David Compton that he had arrived in Texas before
October 1, 1837 but after the Declaration of Independence was made (page 135,
granted in accordance with the provisions of the law passed December 14, 1837)
Milbourne, George, man of family, granted second class conditional certificate number
24 on May 21, 1839 for 640 acres (page 149, apparently granted in accordance with
the provisions of the law passed January 4, 1838)
