November 3, 1896, he was elected county judge (see Record of Election

Representatives. On November 7 he was elected to the seat (see The

he was appointed chairman of the Rivers and Harbors Committee (see
The Colorado County Citizen, December 17, 1931). On his eightieth

that had been known as Marshall Ford Dam was officially renamed
Mansfield Dam in honor of Judge Mansfield (see The Colorado County
Citizen, February 27, 1941). On March 28, 1947, Mansfield and his
family donated a lot in Columbus to the city for the construction of a
library (see Deed Book 133, pages 342-343, Office of the County Clerk,
Colorado County, Texas). The library was subsequently named Mans-

Representatives, died July 12, 1947 and was buried in Eagle Lake.
