e's Nest
by Michael Gillen, Pastor
First Assembly of God, Rusk
The biblical example in Samuel, expresses a
true prophet's heart of pleading with the people
to remain faithful to God and his command-
ments. Samuel remained faithful to God and
his purpose, Throughout his life and never
once, deviated from his original integrity,
mission or message delivered.
His character is seen in his prayer for Israel,
as described as sin, if he ceased to pray for
them He could not rest content but was ear-
nest in teaching the good and right way of the
Lord. He never was seen as self seeking, or
greedy. Character is a growing process. It is
formed on a determined purpose and fixed
directive to live by. It is never, wishy-washy
nor instable but this disposition marks a man
that is found faithful in his integrity and in his
determination, to a sense of Tightness more
than popular opinion of society
How are we marked? Is there consistency,
steadiness, a sense of rightness in our
lives? When one who follows, will follow the
steady hand, steady example of one who is
consistent, and not easily swings in fleshy
directions, you will find a man, a woman of
character! Friend, be cautious, of whom you
follow, it may lead to a Dead End. May there
be in this community, be Men who will lead
their families, as Men of Character.
