WHAT SOME OF THE
NEARBY PAPERS
ARE SAYING
(Sun Patricio County News.t
The life and property loss and the
distress of the people of our neigh-
boring city Corpus Christi being so
great our people have seemingly for-
gotten their own misfortunes and
havjc enniassr gone to the relief of
our more unfortunate neighbors.
Since early Monday morning large
companies of our town people and
farmers from the country have form-
ed into squads and patrolled the
north shore of Nueces bay in search
fur bodies which had been brought
across from Corpus Christi by the
high tide The country roads through
the black land being su heavy from
excessive rain made travel itnpoisl-
ble except on horse back and in wag-
ons. Moit of the bodies recovered to
date have been at White Point and
at the J. W. Baylor ranch and the
Turner Bros ranch both of which
are a few mile sottrb of Odem on
the head of Nueces bay.
