CREATING THE JARRELL COMMON SCHOOL DISTRICT
NO. 12 IN NUECES COUNTY.
S. B. No. 109.] CHAPTER 14.
An Act creating the Jarrell Common School District No. 12 in Nueces
County ,Texas, by redefining the boundaries of and adding to said
Jarrell Common School District certain territory lying north of and
adjacent to Jarrell Common School District, and now embraced in the
Petronila Common School District No. 7 in Nueces County, Texas, and
providing that the entire Jarrell Common School District No. 12 as
herein created, may, by an election held for that purpose, assume and
become liable for all legal indebtedness property chargeable to that
portion of said district formerly belonging to Petronila Common School
District No. 7 and provided for by the provisions of this Act; and
providing for the issuance of bonds and the levy of a tax therefor, and
providing for levy of maintenance tax for support of the public schools
within said district as authorized under the General Laws of this
State; continuing in office the present trustees until the next regular
trustee election, providing for election of trustees and conferring upon
said trustees an the rights, powers, duties and authority conferred
upon common school district trustees by the General Laws of Texas;
validating all bonds heretofore issued and all tax heretofore voted;
repealing all laws in conflict herewith in so far as they conflict with
this Act and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. A common school district to be known as Jarrell
Common School District No. 12 in Nueces County, Texas, is
hereby created and established, including within its bounds the
territory described, same formerly being Jarrell Common School
District No. 12 in Nueces County, Texas and a portion of Petronila
Common School District No. 7 in Nueces County, Texas; Jarrell
Common School District was established by the commissioners'
court of Neuces County, May 13, 1913, and Petronila Common
School District was created by special Act of the Thirty-seventh
SEC. 2. The territory hereby created and established as
Jarrell Common School District No. 12, is described by metes
and bounds as follows:
Beginning at southeast corner of fractional Section 137 of
F. Z. Bishop subdivision of the Driscoll Ranch for the southwest
corner of this district, the same being on south line of Nueces
County; thence east with the south line of Neuces County about
eight miles to its intersection with the right bank of the Petronila
Creek for the southeast corner of this district; thence in a
northwesterly direction with the meanders of the right bank of
Petronila Creek to the north line of the Mary J. Luby tract for
a corner of this district; thence west with north line of Mary J.
Luby tract to its intersection with the east boundary line of
fractional Section 142 of the F. Z. Bishop subdivision of the
Driscoll Ranch for the northwest corner of this district; thence
S. 21 degrees 51' W., with the eastern boundary line of fractional
sections No. 142, 141, 140, 139, 138 and 137 to the
southeast corner of fractional 137, the place of beginning.
