1 AN ACT
2 relating to the repeal of the law relating to the Texas National
3 Research Laboratory Commission.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
5 SECTION 1. Section 51.604, Education Code, is amended to
6 read as follows:
7 Sec. 51.604. USE OF FUND. The commissioner shall allocate
8 the fund to eligible nonprofit organizations for the purpose of:
9 (1) establishing or operating educational programs to
10 assist women or minority group members in preparing for or
11 participating in programs leading to an undergraduate degree in
12 engineering or science from an institution of higher education;
13 (2) disseminating information concerning:
14 (A) educational and career opportunities in
15 engineering and science; and
16 (B) the fund and programs funded under this
17 subchapter; and
18 (3) establishing or operating programs to assist women
19 and minority group members in preparing for careers in
20 superconductivity research, including:
21 (A) recruitment seminars and mentorship
22 programs, in cooperation with [th T- .. Nationl Re--m
